Pricing
How much does a website cost?
Website pricing depends on the plan you choose. We offer Essential, Standard, and Professional subscriptions, each with different features and monthly pricing.
Current prices and available promotions are listed in the pricing section above. Your monthly rate, included services, and any promotional terms will be confirmed before development begins.
Domain registration and certain third-party services are separate expenses. Any additional costs will be discussed beforehand.
How do I make payments?
Once we've agreed on your website and the service terms, I'll email you a secure link to set up your monthly subscription.
You can pay by credit card through Stripe, with supported digital wallets available at checkout. Stripe automatically processes subsequent monthly payments.
I also accept Interac e-Transfer and cash. These payments are arranged directly rather than charged automatically through Stripe.
Are there any upfront fees?
Our standard subscription plans do not require an upfront website development fee.
Your monthly subscription and payment schedule will be confirmed before work begins. Domain registration, paid third-party services, and work outside your selected plan may involve additional costs.
Any additional charges will be explained and agreed upon in advance.
Am I required to sign a contract?
Yes. Before development begins, we'll agree on a service agreement outlining your monthly price, included services, payment schedule, ownership, and cancellation terms.
Essential is offered on a month-to-month basis, while Standard and Professional have an initial 12-month agreement.
You'll have an opportunity to review the terms before committing.
Getting Started
What do you need from me to get started?
We'll start with a conversation about your business, how it operates, and what you'd like your website to accomplish.
I'll typically ask for your business name, contact information, services, pricing, photos, branding, and any existing website or domain details. I'll also ask about appointment booking, customer reviews, and any other tools your business currently uses.
If you have examples of websites you like, those are helpful too.
You don't need to have everything prepared. I can help establish the design and layout, even if you don't have existing branding or a clear idea of how your website should look.
If you need new photography or other additional services, we can discuss those separately.
How long will it take to build my website?
Most standard websites can be built in 1–5 business days once I have the information needed to get started.
You'll have an opportunity to review the proposed design before development begins, and you'll review the finished website before it's published.
More complex websites may take longer, particularly if they require custom features, additional content, or multiple revisions. I'll discuss the expected timeline with you before starting.
Do I need to purchase a domain?
No. Your website can use a free web address provided by the hosting platform, such as yourbusiness.pages.dev.
However, I recommend purchasing a custom domain, such as yourbusiness.ca, to give your business a more professional online presence.
Most standard domains cost approximately $10–$20 CAD per year, although prices vary depending on the name and extension you choose.
Your domain will be registered in your name, and you'll pay its registration and renewal costs separately from your monthly website subscription.
I can help you find an available domain, register it, and connect it to your website. You don't need to figure out the technical setup yourself.
Can you redesign my existing website?
Yes. I can redesign an outdated website, improve its layout, or rebuild it from the ground up.
If your existing website uses a platform such as Wix or Squarespace, I can also make changes directly within that platform. I'll need you to provide the appropriate account access or invite me as an authorized collaborator.
Alternatively, I can rebuild your website and handle its hosting and maintenance through Market Avenue Development.
Maintaining a website on another platform may require a separate quote, and any existing platform subscription fees remain your responsibility.
Integrations
Can customers book appointments online?
Yes. I can connect the website I build for your business to an existing booking service such as Square Appointments, Booksy, Fresha, Phorest, Setmore, or Urable.
Depending on the service, customers can book appointments using a button, link, or booking widget. You can continue managing your appointments through the service you already use.
Can customers book services or request quotes?
Yes. If you use services such as Jobber, Housecall Pro, BookingKoala, ZenMaid, or Launch27, I can add supported booking or request forms to the website.
Customers can book services or submit requests through your existing service, so you can continue managing your business as usual.
Can I sell products online?
Yes. If you use Shopify, I can display products or collections directly on the website I build for you. Customers can browse your products and complete purchases through Shopify's checkout.
If you sell on Etsy, I can add links to your shop or individual product listings.
You can continue managing your products and orders through Shopify or Etsy.
Can customers make payments online?
Yes. I can add payment buttons or checkout links using Stripe or Square.
Customers can make secure payments through your chosen payment provider, while you continue managing transactions through your existing account.
Can you add my Google Maps location and reviews?
Yes. I can add an interactive Google Map to the website I build for your business, helping customers find your location and get directions.
The Standard and Professional plans also include an authentic Google Reviews showcase, helping visitors see feedback from your customers. I can include a link to your Google listing so visitors can read additional reviews.
Can I continue using the software I already have?
In many cases, yes. You don't necessarily need to replace the booking, payment, or store management software you already use.
If your existing service provides a supported booking link, payment link, form, or widget, I can connect it to the website I build for you.
I'll confirm compatibility and what's included in your plan before development begins.
What do you need from me to connect these services?
Usually, just a link or a small piece of code provided by the service you already use.
For example, this might be your appointment booking link, online store link, payment button, or Google business listing.
I'll explain what's needed for your particular setup. You won't need to share account passwords to connect public links or supported widgets.
Are there additional costs for integrations?
It depends on your subscription plan and the features you need.
The Standard plan includes a booking or quote-request integration and an authentic Google Reviews showcase. Professional includes these features along with specialized software integrations within the agreed scope.
Other integrations or custom functionality may require additional development work. Any extra costs will be discussed and quoted before work begins.
Third-party subscriptions and payment-processing fees are separate from your website subscription.
Changes
How do I request changes to my website?
Simply email me at proxy.to.zac@gmail.com and explain what you'd like changed.
Whether it's updating your business hours, changing prices, adding photos, or modifying your website's content, I'll take care of it.
For larger changes, we may arrange a call to discuss the details before I begin.
Are website updates included in my monthly payment?
Yes. Website updates are included in your monthly subscription, with the scope depending on your plan.
Routine updates can include changes to text, images, business hours, pricing, and existing content.
Larger changes, new features, or substantial redesigns may require additional development work. Your agreement will outline what's included, and any extra work will be quoted before proceeding.
Can I make changes to my website myself?
Yes, but most websites I build don't come with a drag-and-drop editor like Wix or Squarespace.
For most customers, the easiest approach is to email me the changes they want, and I'll make them as part of their monthly subscription.
If you have experience with website development, we can also arrange for you to work directly with the website's code through GitHub. This would give you the ability to make changes yourself, although I'd review those changes before publishing them to ensure everything continues working correctly.
What happens if I need changes beyond my monthly allowance?
Each subscription includes a defined scope of website updates and support. Routine content changes are generally included, while larger additions, redesigns, and custom functionality may require a separate quote.
I'll explain any additional costs and obtain your approval before starting work.
Support
Who do I contact if I need assistance?
You'll contact me directly at proxy.to.zac@gmail.com.
I personally handle customer support, website updates, and technical issues. You won't be passed between different support representatives.
What happens if my website stops working?
I'll investigate the issue and work to restore your website as quickly as possible.
I monitor websites for availability and technical problems, although monitoring may not detect every issue.
If you notice something isn't working correctly, email me with a description of the problem, and I'll look into it.
Technical troubleshooting and repairs related to your existing website are included in your monthly subscription.
How quickly can I expect a response?
I typically respond to emails within one business day.
Most support is handled outside regular business hours. Messages sent on weekends or holidays may take up to three days to receive a response.
Website outages are prioritized, although I don't currently provide guaranteed response times or 24/7 support.
Who handles website maintenance?
I do.
Your monthly subscription includes hosting management, technical maintenance, security updates, backups, and troubleshooting.
You can focus on running your business while I handle the ongoing technical responsibilities of your website.
Ownership
Who owns my website?
You always own your business name, branding, domain, and any original content or images you provide.
Your website's design and code are initially provided as part of your subscription with Market Avenue Development.
If you decide to move your website elsewhere, you can purchase a transferable copy. The buyout terms, including the cost and any applicable credits from previous payments, will be outlined in your service agreement.
Once purchased, you'll receive the files needed to operate your website independently, along with permission to use and modify them.
Market Avenue Development retains ownership of its reusable templates, tools, and components, but this won't prevent you from operating your transferred website.
Who owns my domain?
You do.
Your domain will be registered in your name through a domain registrar. If you already have a domain, you can continue using it.
I can help you register a new domain, configure it, and connect it to your website. You'll remain responsible for its annual registration and renewal fees.
Even if you cancel your website subscription, your domain remains yours.
What happens if I cancel my subscription?
Cancellation terms depend on your subscription plan.
Essential is month-to-month, so you can cancel without committing to a long-term agreement. Standard and Professional have an initial 12-month term, with cancellation conditions outlined in your service agreement.
When your subscription ends, hosting, maintenance, and support will stop. Your website may go offline unless you've arranged independent hosting or a transfer.
Your domain, branding, and original content remain yours. If you'd like to take your website to another provider, the transfer and buyout terms in your agreement will apply.
Can I transfer my website to another provider?
Yes. You can arrange to transfer your website to another provider or host it independently.
Once the ownership and transfer conditions in your service agreement have been met, I'll provide a transferable copy of your website, including the applicable website files and content.
Your new provider will be responsible for hosting, configuration, and maintenance. Some third-party integrations may require separate accounts or subscriptions.
Your domain remains under your control throughout the process.
